3/22 I-IV of “The Case for Reparations” – Read up to “V. The Quiet Plunder”
“In 1930 its population was 112,000. Today it is 36,000.” – I feel this is important because I think that over the years the population should grow and not shrink. I think that with the growing of the economy and racism going down that more people would try to move in to bring up the value and population of the area. Why would people continue to live in a place that is so under populated with a high crime rate and not try to bring up the community?
“Black families, regardless of income, are significantly less wealthy than white families” – I feel that no matter what race, color or ethnicity you are, all people should be equal. One race should not be less wealthy than the other if they both have the same education background or lack thereof.
