Most people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. “From their more fixed mindset perspective, their intelligence had been up for judgment, and they failed.” “Just the words “yet” or “not yet,” we’re finding, give kids greater confidence, give them a path into the future that creates greater persistence. And we can actually change students’ mindsets. In one study, we taught them that every time they push out of their comfort zone to learn something new and difficult, the neurons in their brain can form new, stronger connections, and over time, they can get smarter.”
  • They taught children who didn’t know about grow mind set. After them using it awhile their brains grew stronger and became smarter than before by using growth mindset as a tool.
  • A moment about my own fixed mindset was when was in reading. I myself loved to read during my free time. However, when someone told me to read something I wasn’t into I would refuse to read it and just search spark notes for the book. After doing that for a while I had found out that it wasn’t helping me much. So I had stayed after for help.
